However, You are not permitted to remain in Canada for longer than six months at a time, regardless of how long your tourist visa is valid. Therefore, you must go back to your country of origin after six months, stay there for a while, and then come to Canada again for another six months.

Canada Student Visa

A student visa for Canada is granted to people who have been accepted to finish their studies at a Canadian institution. You will need a student visa for studies that last longer than six months. But you can only get a temporary residence visa (TRV) for shorter-term studies.

Although a student also needs a study permit, the student’s visa is essentially the same as a Canada visitor visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTa). The study permit enables you to remain in Canada until the conclusion of your program and, in some cases, to work while you are a student or after you graduate.

The Canada student visa is a hybrid between an eTA and a study or study permit and a visitor visa.

You cannot obtain any documents issued by Canada or any government benefits, such as health benefits, while you have a study permit. However, if obtaining Canadian citizenship is your objective, it will open up a simpler path for you to take.
